Where the data on the screen comes from.

Every Calisto surface builder carries the same Calisto tab, and on a station it is the one place data is scoped. Nothing is duplicated into the station: it reads the same catalog, reservations and members your other apps read.

Your own catalog, not a copy

A station sells from the one catalog your business already keeps. Change an item once and every station, kiosk, site and app showing it changes with it. There is no station-local product list to keep in step.

Governed reads

What a station may show is decided by your rules in Purview, applied on the server. A field redacted for this station is never sent to the device.

Scoped to a branch

Pick the location this station belongs to and it serves that branch. Leave it unscoped and it serves everything, which is what a single-location business wants.

Add a capability as blocks

Choose a module and its blocks are written into the design, then you land back in the designer to arrange them. Never a configuration screen with no visible result.

Publish it, deploy it, hand it to the people who stand at it.

Staff open the station's address on a phone, tablet or computer they already have and sign in. Nothing is paired or installed. On a shared till a colleague signs in beside them, and each switches back with a PIN.

Who can configure this station and whose daily portal it is are set independently, so someone can be handed a station to work on without being able to change it.

The Service Floor

Service is not a checkout screen. It is an open check living across a table, a ticket that has to reach the right prep station, an item that ran out at seven, and a bill that splits three ways. Station carries all of it against the same records your other apps read, so the floor plan in Orderflow and the table on the station are the same table.

Tables and open checks

Every occupied table carries its live balance. Tap one and the station opens or resumes that check. A seat count you have not recorded stays blank rather than being invented.

Kitchen routing rules

Redirect or duplicate a fired ticket to a prep station when the dining option, service area or category matches, in a priority order you set.

The kitchen board

Pending, preparing, ready. Tickets advance on the board itself, it narrows to one station, and an all-day view totals what is still to be produced.

Mark an item sold out

Take something off mid-shift and it disappears from every station serving that catalog. Restore it the same way. Each change is logged against whoever made it.

One check, however it splits

Courses, splits, partial settlement, and the rest to a room or a house account. Tips apply only when the whole settlement succeeds, so a failed payment never books one.

Room and account charge

Charge an in-house guest to their room, or a member or corporate credit line to its account. A limit you have not set is left blank rather than guessed.

Station runs in a browser, so the hardware is whatever you have: tablets on the counter, phones in staff pockets, a terminal at the desk. This is where they are registered, activated with a code, scoped to part of the catalog, and retired.

Every phone, tablet and desktop registered as a station, in four views: all of them, terminals, handhelds, and the sessions open right now. A new device stays pending until its six-character code is entered on the device itself.

Rename it, set where it is, and see its reader, printer and recent activity. Each device carries its own catalog scope, so a poolside handheld sells only the part of the catalog it should.

Add a receipt or kitchen printer by name, model and protocol, send a test print, and watch its heartbeat. Adding is deliberate rather than automatic: you tell Calisto what is on the network.

A read view of the queue showing what is waiting, what failed and how many retries it took, beside the routing tags each printer answers to. Item and ticket routing is set in the kitchen rules, not here.

Named selling stations with their own device and status. Open one with a starting float, close it with a counted amount, and the difference is recorded. Currency follows what you entered and is never assumed.

The receipt a station prints is one of your governed templates, authored once in Purview and used by every station, so a branding change lands everywhere at the same time.

The Drawer and the Close

Cash you can actually account for.

The drawer is where trust in a service business is won or lost. Station decomposes the expected figure rather than storing a total, keeps every mid-shift movement as its own line, hides the expected amount from the person counting, and stamps the reconciliation with the manager who signed it off.

Counted minus expected is the variance. Under a blind close the cashier never sees this panel.

Open the till

A starting float, and from that moment the expected figure is a live calculation rather than a number someone typed at the end of the night.

Movements during the shift

Paid in, paid out, a drop to the safe, a no-sale. Each is a line in the drawer ledger with who made it, and each moves the expected figure at once.

Blind close

The cashier counting sees no expected figure at all. The breakdown stays suppressed until a manager reconciles it. Counting against a number you can already see is not a count.

X-report and Z-report

Pull an X-report mid-shift without closing anything. The Z-report closes it: gross, net, tax, tips, refunds and comps, items, tenders by method, expected against counted.

It posts to the books

Closing posts a balanced journal entry through the same folio and ledger spine the rest of Calisto uses. No export step, nothing keyed in twice.

Daily reconciliation

What the stations reported against what posted to the ledger, and the difference. If they disagree you find out the next morning, not at the end of the month.

A charge runs through the payment connector your account owns. Rails that settle later open a pending tender and wait for the callback. Sales taken during an outage replay as a batch that cannot double-post. No currency is ever assumed.

Performance

Every report reads the same order spine the checks were written to, so the transaction list, the margin report and the reconciliation cannot disagree. Nothing is filled in where data is missing: a null cost renders blank, and an amount with no currency never acquires a symbol it never had.

Today at a glance: revenue, orders, open sessions, refunds waiting, items taken off, and the last seven days. Amounts render in whatever currency was reported, and a plain number where there is none.

You design the screen a role needs, and when that person signs in on a tablet, a phone, or a mounted terminal, that screen is what opens, which is what makes the device a register. It is also where every employee who is not an admin gets set up, so granting floor staff access to the terminals is part of setting them up.

One is the responsive operational portal, desktop-first with full portal capabilities. The other is the fixed terminal screens on the device. Same builder, two surfaces, because a person and a till need different screens.

No. It is an organising label for granting stations. Calisto has no intra-account permission tiers, so a role groups people for setup rather than restricting what they may see.

No. They are the shared member model that Workforce, Equipo and Purview all read. Adding somebody once means their schedule, training and pay follow.
