The Terminal

Four checkout modes. Retail. Quick service. Unified. Terminal.

One selling surface with four checkout modes that adapt the layout and workflow. A retail sale scans a barcode, sets a quantity, and takes payment. A quick-service order shows a product grid with modifiers and sends to the kitchen. Unified mode combines all catalog types in one session. The general terminal provides the full checkout runtime — cart, payment, split payment, and transaction capture. The terminal reads its sellable catalog and checkout configuration from Slate.

The variance view compares expected totals against the actual count with alerts when the difference exceeds a configurable threshold.
