Calisto Legal

The business of a law firm, in one place

For solo attorneys, small, regional and global firms, and corporate legal departments doing transactional work: companies, financings and real-estate closings.

One

record for every matter, from the inquiry to the binder

One

ledger for every client’s money, never overdrawn

One

wall per matter, applied on every read

Acquisizione

Checked for conflicts before anyone gives advice

An inquiry arrives from your intake form, your website or a referral, already naming the other people involved. The conflict check runs before the engagement does.

Your Intake Form

On your website, each answer a lead on your intake pipeline.

Every Name Searched

Parties, contacts, aliases and related companies, on every matter past and present and every open lead.

Cleared, Waived or Declined

A waiver is decided by the person your approval routing names. Every check is kept.

No Matter Before It Clears

By default a matter opens only on a cleared or waived check. The rule is your setting.

The check is clear. Now the client agrees to the terms.

Engagement Letters

The scope, the fees and the terms, in one link

The client reads the letter and signs it, and confirms who they are while they sign. The signed letter opens the matter.

Written Once

The scope, the fee arrangement and your terms, priced from your own rates.

Identity Inside the Signing

An identity check, or identity and anti-money-laundering screening, as your setting and your country say.

The Matter Opens Itself

With its number by your scheme, and the lead’s parties already on it.

Every Letter Tracked

Sent, opened, signed or waiting, on the lead it answers.

The Matter

Its parties, its credits and its wall, on one page

Each matter carries its number, practice area and responsible attorney, and everything that happened on it.

Every Party by Role

Client, counterparty, lender, co-counsel and every related company.

Origination Credit

Who brought it in, who is responsible and who worked on it, with shares.

The Ethical Wall

Keep named people out, or let only named people in. It applies to the matter’s time, documents, messages, closing and invoices.

Every Conversation

The firm’s conversations with the client and your own mail, calls and meetings, beside the matter.

Time and Fees

Every fee arrangement, reviewed before it is billed.

Hourly in tenths, fixed fees, retainers and success fees, with a cap on what a matter ever bills and the bill split between payers.

Time & Fees

Time where the work happens, billed the way you agreed

A Timer on Every Page

Rounded to six minutes when your setting says so, for any matter.

The Pre-Bill

Write down, defer or mark non-billable, keeping the original.

Success Fees and Caps

A share of the deal value, and a ceiling on what the matter bills.

Split Billing

Co-clients, or a buyer and a seller, each billed their share.

Research From the Matter

Your own research provider, opened with the client-matter number, its costs imported as disbursements.

Client Money

A ledger for every client and every matter. Never overdrawn.

Trust, escrow and client accounts, each with its own currency, and every entry on the client’s and the matter’s own ledger.

Received for the Client

Retainers and deposits for a closing, on the client’s ledger.

Paid Out, Never Beyond

A payout larger than the client holds is refused before any money moves.

Three-Way Reconciliation

The bank, the trust journal and the client ledgers compared, then signed off.

Invoices Paid From Trust

A client’s invoice paid from what you hold for them, when your setting says so.

The money is where it should be. Now the documents.

Documenti

Drafted from your precedents, shared on your terms

Your Precedents

Drafted for the matter with its client, parties and number filled in.

A Data Room per Matter

Shared through the client portal, to view or to upload, every view on the trail.

Document Requests

A checklist asked of a client, each document landing in the matter.

Legal Hold

A hold keeps everything on the matter, whatever your retention says.

Chiusure

A company’s completion or a property’s, in one closing file

Conditions, deliverables, documents and signature pages, each with its owner inside or outside the firm, then the statement and the binder.

Every Item With Its Owner

With the day it is due and its executed copy.

One Packet per Signer

Every document a signer signs, in one packet.

The Closing Statement

Per currency, with the lines paid out of client money once each.

The Closing Binder

The executed set with its index, filed with the matter.

Where your data lives

Your clients’ data, where you decide.

Calisto’s application servers and its default database and storage are in the European Union. To keep your clients’ data in another country, connect your own database, storage and AI there, and hold your own keys.

Legal does not stand alone. The client is the same contact your firm sees everywhere, the letter is signed in Sign, the time and the books are the apps your whole firm runs on, and every email, call and meeting is its own seat for the people who need it.

Questions about Calisto Legal

No. It runs the business of a transactional practice, corporate transactions and real-estate closings, and of an in-house legal department. Court deadlines, docketing, e-filing and e-billing standards are not part of it, and your research tool stays your own: the matter opens it with the client-matter number.

Not by default. A matter opens on a cleared or waived conflict check, and a waiver is decided by the person your approval routing names. Whether a check is required is your setting.

In trust accounts with a ledger for each client and each matter. A payout larger than what a client holds is refused, and a three-way reconciliation is prepared and signed off on the schedule your country expects.

No. Mail, Inbox, Voice and Live are each their own seat, given to the people who need them. A Legal seat gives a person Legal.
