SWITCH FROM GOOGLE WORKSPACE ADMIN

Google Workspace Admin to Calisto Purview

Purview is control over the businesses an account runs: each person's work private until they share it and kept by the business when they leave, who may do what with owner settings instead of roles, which settings every app may change, and every business side by side.

People
Add PeopleCalisto: Add Member invites a person by email with the seats and stations offered; they join by accepting, and the invitation says the business controls nothing else of their account.Geprüft am 8. Nov. 2026QuelleJaJa
Admins and Who May Do WhatCalisto: owners and admins, and every choice about people in People & privacy with its own default; an owner can make an exception for one person on personal data, money and handing over work. No roles to assign.Geprüft am 8. Nov. 2026QuelleJaJa
GroupsCalisto: Hubs, private or public, each with its own chat, folders and email address, renamed, archived, restored or deleted on the owner's rules for who may.Geprüft am 8. Nov. 2026QuelleJaJa
Settings
Settings Held Across the OrganizationCalisto: each setting is Members may change or Purview manages; a managed setting is read-only in every app, and Enforce Standards pushes one business's settings onto others and locks them there.Geprüft am 8. Nov. 2026QuelleJaJa
Work
A Departed Person's FilesCalisto: nothing is transferred. What a person made is private to them until they share it, and once they are no longer in the business the people the owner names open and edit all of it, however they left; Workforce hands their open listings, leads, deals, tasks and work orders to the person picked.Geprüft am 8. Security
Require Two-Step Sign-InCalisto: Require multi-factor authentication makes everyone in the business set up a passkey or an authenticator app, with no way to skip it.Geprüft am 8. Nov. 2026QuelleJaJa
Single Sign-OnCalisto: company sign-in with SAML or OpenID, each domain proved by DNS, and directory sync over SCIM, set up in each Core app's Settings, Sign-in.Geprüft am 8. Nov. 2026QuelleJaJa

Classify DocumentsCalisto: a default classification on every new document, sheet and slide, from Public to Restricted; the author can raise it, and an export carries it as a watermark.Geprüft am 8. Nov. 2026QuelleJaJa
Delete After a Retention PeriodCalisto: new documents, sheets and slides kept for the days the business sets, then moved to Trash, where they can be restored before they are purged.Geprüft am 8. Nov. 2026QuelleJaJa

Questions about switching

Do my people come over?

Connect company sign-in in Settings, Sign-in, and your directory's sync adds and removes people as it does. Anyone else joins by accepting an invitation from Add Member.

What does Purview add?

Each setting of every app is Members may change or Purview manages, and a managed one is read-only everywhere. The businesses you run sit side by side, with Needs Attention, Compare and Enforce Standards. Money is shared family by family, and a person's work stays with the business when they leave.
