By its export file

Migration guide

Move your data from Salesforce

Salesforce does not accept requests from a browser on a key you can create, so its data comes across by its own export file. You drop the file, see how the columns map, and each record lands once.

What moves

What comes across

Calisto has no reader for Salesforce’s records yet. Its export file still comes across as contacts, clients, properties or bookings: you map the columns yourself.

Export file

Exporting from Salesforce

  1. In Salesforce Setup, search Quick Find for Data Export and open it.
  2. Click Export Now (or Schedule Export), choose the encoding, tick Include all data, and start the export.
  3. When Salesforce emails you, download the ZIP from Data Export (it is deleted after 48 hours).
  4. Drop the ZIP below as it is: each object (Contact.csv, Account.csv, Opportunity.csv…) is read as its own table.
Salesforce’s own help page

Before your first import you accept the Data Import Terms: you bring your own data with credentials you hold, and Calisto acts as your processor. Calisto never contacts the vendor for you and never sees your key. Read the terms
